![]() Apart from the initial pattern , this samurai saddle has been at this point , a bunch of individual pieces . Now it is coming to the stage where those pieces are coming together to form a single set . I'm creating this saddle as a one of a kind piece , so I'm fitting the pieces by eye rather than actually measuring which is what I would do were I planning to produce this saddle as a kit where I would need to make the same saddle over and over again . I did have to go out and pick up a package of leather scraps in order to get some lighter weight pigskin , since the cowhide that I used to create the saddle skirts was just far too heavy to make straps . Having finished the tooling on the skirts , I now went in and cut in and debossed the slot that would allow the stirrup strap to pass thru the upper and lower skirts , and wrap around the saddle tree , and in turn form the stirrup strap that will hold the stirrup in place . I have cut the stirrup buckle cover and cut the stirrup hardware from sheet brass , and am now in the process of creating the buckles for the stirrup straps . I will now have to take all the leather straps and skirts to the completed phase , which means finishing any details and painting prior to any other work , because from this point on , it will be a matter of assembling everything to finish , and I won't be able to easily modify the pieces once they've been glued together . | samurai_saddle2 | samurai_saddle3 | samurai_saddle4 | samurai_saddle5 | samurai_saddle6 | samurai_saddle7 | | Let's Paint ! | PaintinKini2 | Steve Zodiac Shockini Custom | Sword Making | Swordmaking1 | Swordmaking2 | WarhorsePreview | Simple Masks | EasyVelcro_fro | Cool Girl Wrist Conversion | samurai_saddle | DX Disaster | Fix It!
