  I wish I could say that I wanted to wait on Ruby's re-do until I had gotten better at hair and face-ups , but that's not true , I just had other projects that took precedence . It did give me the time to practice on face paints and hairstyling in 1:6 , and I have improvd but it's still a great deal of fudging around and hoping for the best rather than actual skill at achieving what I want to accomplish . Ruby's hair was styled in a rather unprofessional manner , wrapped around with twist ties and then boil dunked to set the wave . Once dry I teased it out with a needle and finger styled it in place . It works and just goes to show that sometimes you can get away with murder . Her face ops were merely accentuated , I added some highlighting to her irises as well as a core highlight , some blushing with pastels and a deeper pink wash to her lips along with some lash and lipline detailing with colored pencils .
