 During the 1970's my life made a dramatic turn , I was introduced to the artwork of Frank Frazetta via my brother's subscription to the Doubleday Book Club ; in particular the first in what would become a series of cover art and interior illustrations for Edgar Rice Burrough's " Barsoom " mythology , " Princess of Mars " . I had never seen art like Frazetta's before , and it captured me as it has countless others over his impressive career . It was the work of Frank Frazetta that would eventually lead me to a career as an illustrator myself , though during the early 80's I was smart enough to realize I would never become another " Frazetta " myself and stopped trying to draw like him . He has , however , remained a constant source of inspiration . My Cool Girl custom " Leopard Girl " is probably my most " Frazetta-ish " custom , due more by subconscious motives than actually setting out to create a truly Frazetta inspired piece .  I've been having a lot of fun generating photo manips featuring my Leopard Girl , so much so that I am now seriously considering taking some time during my upcoming vacation to dust off the old paint brushes and do a " real " painting of her . I am able to keep that old Gorby flavor throughout my photoshop work with digital imagery , but the Cool Girls never really have that pure Gorby look so it'll be fun to do her up the " old fashioned " way .
