Estra La , the Warrior Maiden , started out as a fairly simple idea for a kit bash that quickly escalated into an extremely serious undertaking ; to date my most expensive and work intensive custom kit bash .

One of the main factors contributing to the cost of this custom was my choice to use costume jewelry to form the costume . Estra La's outfit is constructed from four necklaces and three pair of earrings , all cannibalized and reconstructed to make up her chain mail bikini and accoutrements .

Having set the bar as far as realism as regarded her costuming , I decided to go for broke and turn Estra La into a " signature " piece . She has taken almost half a year to bring to completion , and I have ended up investing close to two hundred dollars in her creation , which does not include labor or man hours as I hand crafted the various materials utilized in the construction of her gear . I still have a few finishing touches to add to her , but she is complete enough to make an official unveiling .
