A . F. M . Productions has just released the second Made for DVD feature film featuring action figure/action hero Eric Hammond , following up the events that took place in the premiere feature , Storm Cloud . Typically one might call this a " sequel " in that it continues the storyline introduced in the original , with the same characters ; however unlike a great many sequels that simply repeat the storyline of the predecessor , Storm Cloud 1.5 takes the opportunity to build on the characters and set the stage for a possible series . Haunted By The Ghosts of The Past  The loss of his beloved wife at the hands of terrorists has left Hammond a deeply troubled and angry man . . . his passion slowly being consumed by doubts , fears and an all-consuming lust for vengeance . It's a great set-up for a sequel and from this simple premise could quite easily fall into the mainstay of most other action genre films were it not for the careful storyteller behind Storm Cloud , Philip Lane . Using this tried and true plotline , Lane begins to weave a tale unlike any other action film , using the incredibly strong and heroic character of the leading man as the catalyst , which starts him down a path we've seen in countless other action films but which eventually leads to a place we never expected ; okay , that's not entirely true . . . we kind of expect Hammond to come out of this adventure stronger and even more of the hero he was portrayed as in the first film which he does . It's the manner in which he finds his path that we are not quite expecting .  Former Storm Cloud Team Leader , Carlos Bustamonte turns up again , not only as the primary target for Eric Hammond's deathwish , but also to introduce us to this film's Blofeldian villain , Cristoff ; who sees great value in the man who once led the anti-terrorist unit Storm Cloud , within his organization . While Hammond had the help of the entire Storm Cloud unit in his first venture , this time out he gets some unexpected assistance from a single operative from Storm Cloud in the dark and beautiful guise of Lotus , who pretty much fills the boots of a whole team of hard chargers by herself quite admirably . Rounding out the main cast of characters is the preacher , billed simply as The Pastor in the credits who has unwittingly incurred the wrath of Cristoff due to his vehement resistance to his little parrish's financial salvation , the computer component manufacturer C . I . I . N . Corp whose demanding production schedule is cutting into his Sunday services and therefore the spiritual salvation of his parrishioners .  Despite the urgings of his martial arts teacher , Master Chin , Eric Hammond seems hellbent to follow the inevitable path of destruction his course of vengeance is leading him , blinded by the pain of his loss . Tracking down the man he blames for the death of his wife , Colonel Carlos Bustamonte , Hammond 's intention is all too clear ! Fortunately he receives a guiding light from the very source of his rage , Carlos Bustamonte ; who is not the same man we remember from Storm Cloud 1 . While the character of Bustamonte in the original Storm Cloud is the proverbial " guy you like to hate " his transformation in 1.5 opens up quite a few possibilities for the character and is quite a nice touch to the character development very prominent throughout this film .  A Very Personal Journey . . . His encounter with Bustamonte leaving him with greater doubts in himself , Hammond embarks on a search of a different kind ; for neither terrorists nor revenge , but for meaning in his wife's death . His quest soon takes him to a little town up " up north " and a chance encounter with The Pastor and his daughter Saylor in a " greasy spoon " . Hammond intercedes in an unpleasant encounter with a couple of Cristoff's thugs determined to ruin the pastor's breakfast plans with his daughter .  What The Heck Do These Goons Have Against 3 Squares ?
Eager to repay Hammond's selfless intervention on the behalf of their dilemna in the diner that morning , the Pastor invites Eric to dinner that evening . Unfortunately dinner with the pastor and his daughter gets interrupted by an unwelcome visit by armed killers , Hammond decides its time to get to the bottom of the violence directed at this man of God .  An Unexpected Ally Sent by Storm Cloud to keep an eye on Hammond during his personal crisis , the mysterious beauty Lotus finds Eric a far more difficult quarry than she had anticipated . Hammond , at first angry at the unwanted surveillance eventually seeks her out to assist him in his investigation of the plot against the pastor ; and soon discovers that Lotus offers much more than mere covert skills to the answers he seeks .  What Kind Of personal Computers Are They Making Here !?
Despite the economic vitality C . I . I . N . Corp has showered upon the small town with its manufacturing plant , Hammond's curiosity into the violence against the pastor eventually leads him to suspect the manufacturing corporation is behind the attacks . With the grudging assistance of Lotus , they discover the dark secret within the plant's well guarded walls ; C . I . I . N . Corp . is manufacturing quite a bit more than simple laptop computers ! With the small town and its populace hanging in the balance , it's up to Hammond and Lotus to somehow find a way to prevent Cristoff's plans from becoming a reality that will threaten the very security of the United States .
