 Learning how to tie decorative knots is an engaging and fun way to create simple attachment methods for just about anything for your 12 inch tall action figures . I got involved in it when I created the armor for the Tesse custom . When I got the new alternative " Ash " figure , I wanted a way to attach her katana aside from the loop that is on her overcoat and creating a sageo knot on her scabbard was a simple method to accomplish this goal . Experimenting and playing around can also add some unique design possibilities . When it came to finishing off the lacing for her sageo , after adding a few slip knots , I unravelled one of the cord ends to fray it , thus adding an interesting texture to one strand of the silk cord . To prevent the fray from running too much , I used Super Glue at the bottom most slip knot . Very easy to do , and very neat looking .
