A Place to Lay your Hat

You've got your kinis , and while its perfectly acceptable to have them standing around your workspace , or on a shelf , wouldn't it be cool if they had a place to call their own?

It's not as hard as you might think , to create a place for your kinis to congregate and thanks to their small size , their living requirements won't take up much space at all . Plus depending on your design , you can create a modular unit system that you can add to as your kini population grows . All it takes is a vivid imagination and a few simple supplies .

What You Will Need

To get started you will need a few basic supplies : paper and a pencil to sketch out your ideas , a sharp X-Acto blade , a ruler , straight pins and/or masking tape and building material ( which can be practically anything : the styrofoam padding from a TV set or other electronic device , cardboard or as in this demo , FoamCore .) Once you've decided on a design , you'll need to make a foundation , this will be the base of you Kini HQ and whether or not you decide on a modular system or not , you should make it either square or rectangular with edges at 90 degree angles . This is primarily for easy storage in a corner , or shelf , or in the event of add ons to butt edges together . This will also make easy to box up for storage should the need arise .

Putting It All Together

Whether you are using styrofoam, cardboard or foam core , you can play around with your design's architectural features using straight pins or masking tape to hold the pieces together as you create your space . There are no hard and fast rules concerning how to go about building a room other than it needs to have walls and doors , maybe windows and corridors as well . At this stage , its important just to have fun and let your imagination guide you with providing your Shockinis an interesting environment within which to reside . The main reason you want to keep your ruler handy is so that you can make accurate measurements so that when you begin cutting your doorways and walls , ramps and stairways , etc. etc . they will all fit together nicely . Taking your Kini HQ to the finishing stages will be covered in a future feature article .
