The conception of the Robothunters began simply enough as a single 1:6 character custom of Cool Girl Aska into my CyberHuntress , that has expanded as the idea of the RobotHunters grew in my mind as a theme for a photostory series using 1:6 scale action figures . As with most of my creative ideas through the years , the impetus began merely as a character concept which has been expanded and built upon . I certainly had no real intention to take it to the extent that it has currently reached , but when confronted by necessity , one's plans often are altered to accomodate the needs . If you have a single character , it's inevitable that to assist that character's development you need additional characters to play against thus you create MORE characters . In order to understand the psychology of those characters you need to create a world within which they exist and so the whole ball begins to roll . It's an inevitable path that has to be followed , in order to bring the idea to life . Here then , without further build up , is how the RobotHunters transformed from a single character customization to a collection of custom figures all created for the single purpose of creating a narrative to entertain . ![]() With the creation of my CyberHuntress using CG Aska , RobotHunters began , and with subsequent figure acquisitions and customizations and bashes I started the process of populating the universe of the RobotHunters . Now , of course , the creation of a character is only the firt step ; which leads into naming that character and deciding who they are . Names are important , they need to be memorable as well as unique and interesting reflecting who that character is in essence . When it comes to deciding upon a name , I like to refer back to history ; since their are a great many names that have been given to characters ( real and imagined ) that sound very , very cool . Names that " roll off the tongue " to coin a phrase . Sometimes all one needs to do is dig down into the subconscious to pull up a name that made a particular impact from a particular source , be that a book a movie or what have you . Greek drama has always been a particular favorite of mine along with Japanese Manga both of which seem to be intertwined ; owing much to the idea of mythic narrative . Just to give you an idea of how I put together ideas , here's how the initial lineup from RobotHunters were named . Briseis McAll : Briseis is a greek name of a heroine from a long forgotten source that just sounds very strong . The fact that I used to run a blonde Spartan warrior maiden in a RPG was a primary factor in how Briseis McAll was christened . Arris Marx : With Kisaragi Honey's blonde hair and blue eyes . i wanted a germanic/teutonic sounding name , thus Arris ( from Aryan ) and Marx ( from the Soviet leader ) . Again the name has a certain sound to it that implies strength . Lima Kattaloon : At times a name comes about through no means other than being weird with a cool " ring " to it . Lima's name does have a certain " manga " feel to it ; with not just a certain strong aspect but a feminine aspect as well . Zoe : One of my favorite movies is " Killing Zoe " , and the name itself is kooky , for this character , a very no nonsense warrior , I wanted to pay homage to that rather bloodthirsty film since I saw Zoe as a bloodthirsty character ( or maybe I should say " oil thirsty " since she's a robotKiller ) and the name Kriede was taken simply for it's similarity to the german Krieg which means " War " . I decided to give her the nickname " Bang Bang " due to her penchant for destruction . For this character , pronunciation is key : Zoe , can be pronounced as " ZO " or " Zo-EE " , and because of how rough she is as a person I am using the " Zo-EE " pronunciation because it has a lighter , funnier sound to it . Ada Achilles : Ada's naming came about solely to utilize the greek sources again , and the name Ada is one you typically don't see too often . In conjunction Ada Achilles rolls nicely off the tongue . ![]() ![]() ![]() | Nemesis | Sgt.Kattaloon | Cmdr.
