My home has always been a bit of a museum , even as a child ; when my father created a " hobby room " for me in the basement of our home , it soon became filled with hanging models , battlefield dioramas and pictures adorning the walls . Littlle has changed over the ensuing years , aside from the particular collections . The former mammoth Star Wars collection is gone , as is the GI Joe Adventure Team . The veritable Armies of the World in HO scale are history as is the unenviable tonnage of lead miniatures . The Legions of Robotech are boxed up as are the many resin kits , vinyl kits and models . Now the " Gorby Museum " consists primarily of several porcelain dolls and sculptures , original artwork from my years as an illustrator and my collection of 1:6 scale action figures , consisting mostly of Takara's Cool Girls . I display most of my collection in my living room , and they surround me in such a way as to allow me a glimpse into a particular theme or genre depending on where I happen to gaze . As a former artist , I built up a considerable library of reference books which required a full length wall of bookshelving , which now populates it's niches with action figures , books, videos and DVD's .  Considering that I'm not big into the " Goth " scene , I was amazed at how many characters I have that tend to represent that genre , of course these are more akin to Gothic Horror moreso than punk subculture , it's one of my favorite displays due mostly to my fondness for Black andWhite horror films . From left to right : Bad Amy , Jennifer Wetworks , Ash , Bela , Barbra Dark and Malicia ( seated in her skeletal hand and holding her pet spider " George " , that's " Alice " at the base ( both of these " pets " were named after my mother and stepfather *chuckle * ) . Then we have Whisper and her master , Luther Crowe .  The far end of my library is home to my " nature collection " , General Ursus lives there because while the only good human is a dead human , he seems more at peace with Jungle Girls . That , and there are a couple of his ancestors living there too . That's Sheena near the obelisk and the Leopard Girl underneath a rampaging Kong .  The only way to survive a household that is the dwelling place of the two feral cats I adopted is to make sure they are outnumbered , thus my " Catty Shack " consisting of Catwoman , She-Cat and Ghost Tiger .  Having been an enthusiast of japanese samurai since forever , one small section has a decidedly eastern theme , amongst the Monofuku bits and pieces are the temporarily " reenvisioned " Tesse from Pearls of Blood , sporting Annu Yuri's headsculpt , DX Yuni , Scorpion Clan assassin , Pearls of Blood's Black Dragon , Motoko the priestess and Makabe Shino on her mount .  Home to the Wild Roses , Dallas Granger , " Doc " and Margherite Mezcal , and backing them up is Femforce's Buckaroo Betty . Someday the horses are gonna get saddles .  I need more figures of color , but so few are made , which is a durn shame . Still , I am particularly fond of the few I do have . I have some headsculpts awaiting appropriate body acquisitions so this section is eventually going to need to be expanded . From left to right , Bimini Rhodes , Tee Hee and an as yet unnamed sista .  Owing more to my career as a fantasy illustrator rather than that ill-fated 80's television series , my front room endtable is the domain of my sword and sorcery themed figures . Estra La's warhorse is so damned big there's really nowhere else to put it . Flanking her are Dr. Craven , Corinthian Cutey and the Sorceress .  The television is sort of my " selection of the month " spot , depending on my mood the figures here rotate around .
