 I wanted to add some accoutrements to my Juno Ventura custom , just to round out her outfit , and these accessories turned out to be a couple of bags and pouches from Bear Johnson's " One Sixth Depot " . One of these items was a nifty little shoulder bag , which made for an easy stowage item for Juno's rifle ( and I'm sure some " Beanie Weenies " and Java Juice . I also picked up a thigh pouch just cuz i thought it might look neat . It's from a GI Joe set ( and HooBoy ! That Joe musta had some damn big thighs cuz the straps were like 4 times the size of juno's PB thigh !! ) I kept one strap as is and fastened it around her hips , and took in the thigh strap , replacing the brass Joe buckle with a CG plastic buckle . With this new pouch though , I was faced with a new dilemna - what does it hold ?  I can't explain it , but for some reason I keep giving binoculars to the Hispanic PB . The first was Dakota Montana , who got a pair of binocs just because she was an adventuress and needed to see who was chasing her , or the far off mountain peak she was attempting to reach . I guess Juno needed a scan viewer so she could see where the Hell Artoo had run off to THIS time ! Maybe it was just cuz the pouch seemed to be sized for a scan viewer , who knows ? At any rate , it gave me the opportunity to do some kitbashing , which is always a rather engaging job of creative thinking and playing around with bits and pieces of nothing in order to create SOMETHING !  I enjoy kitbashing , primarily because of the mental gymnastics that are required in figuring out unique ways to put together disparate items in a fashion that makes them appear to have been intended for the final piece . At its bare bones , kitbashing involves looking for interesting shapes , materials , etc . that with a modicum of modification can transcend their intended purpose in order to fulfill another . The View Scanner is a perfect example . I spent a day and a half searching for and customizing the various bits and pieces that make up Jono's View Scanner . A parts list is as follows : 2. 2 CG Spas Shotgun cocking grips form the front and rear lens shields 3. Testors 144th scale Macross Valkyrie Engine Cover for top View Scanner case detail piece 4. Clear plastic blade cover ffrom a disposable razor and clear colored cap from a deodorant case trimmed down to form the lenses . Most of the modifications that were done on the various bits and pieces were simple cuts , except for the frame for the lens that is part of the eyepiece . This piece was cut from the outer edge of a microwave dinner tray and cut to shape and a center slot cut through so that the lens piece would show . There are lots of " kitbashable " items in your home , and most of it comes from stuff that we typically throw away , so keep in mind before you toss the garbage to take a keen look at it and try to see what might be contained within that disposable item that could serve a further use in your various projects . A final thought , and one that should get listed in the " Dept. of " Why Didn't i Think Of This Before ! ?! " , The plastic case that holds Wrigley's Eclipse Breath Strips is a 1:6 scale kitbash piece waiting to happen and offers a lot of possible interpretations . Sgt.Kattaloon | Cmdr.
