![]() Applying your finishing touches is the easiest part of sculpting a miniature face , primarily due to the tools you are using . No longer the harsh and hard needles , now you are utilizing the soft and gentle strokes of a soft bristled brush . In a sense you are painting the details , softening and smoothing out rough edges . Turpentine is the best thinner I've found for Super Sculpey , although you need to be careful with the amount you use because it really thins it out , BIG TIME ! Just wet your brush and dab off the excess , then apply the turp as if you were painting . This part is very low impact and very quick . ![]() Sculpey bakes hard at 275 degrees . In you home oven , the average piece takes about 15 minutes . Now due to the fact that your head sculpt is on your Shockini , you don't want to slap him in the oven , you'd end up melting your figure . Fortunately, thanks to the size , you can achieve the same results with a standard run-of-the-mill hand held Hair dryer . It only takes a couple of sessions of a couple minutes each and VIOLA! your head sculpt is cured and ready for painting . ![]() Just the basic head sculpt , trying to get the basic features laid in . Hopefully , if I've done my job correctly , you can already tell who this Kini is going to be . ![]() With the assistance of an impartial observer I have gone back and adjusted my portrait sculpt , hopefully getting the intended likeness closer to the model for this new sculpt . I have also started adding the hair . | Head Sculpts 101 | Head Sculpts 101 Part2 | Sculpting Ears | | Mail-O-Rama | Geeb's How To | Head Sculpts Using Polymer Clay | Customizing The Batcycle | 1/6 scale diorama | terrain diorama | 1/6 Scale Boots | Re-Rooting Hair | BimBott | Read_A_Book | WorksInProgress | Aki Ross Repaint | Gun-Bashing | painting heads | | Return Home | Updates | The Archive | Gorby Site Map | Geeb-O-Rama's Model Workshop | Geeb's Toy Box | Geeb-O-Rama Goodies | Movie Madness | World Of The Bizarre | Cool Beans | |
