Welcome to Geeb-O-Rama's Modeller's Resource!

I receive a great many requests for castings or original sculpts , of my work from other customizers . Sadly I don't have the time to devote to such requests , but rarely is it because what I' m doing is so good that it is beyond anyone else's capabilities . I'll be the first to admit that I am a good sculptor , but at the same time I can point out a plethora of other sculptors who beat my stuff upside down and backwards with little to no effort . Certainly an individual's artistic talents play heavily in this mix , but sculpting is a skill not an art , what you do with that skill is where the " art " lies . Anyone can sculpt , the degree of skill they bring to that sculpture is determined by how well they have mastered the techniques and apply what they have learned . The only way to master a skill or a technique is by the repetition of doing it , over and over and over again .

To illustrate my point , pictured above is a sculpture I did a long, long, looong time ago . To be completely honest , it' s a piece of CRAPOLA ! But, it was a beginning . I was happy enough with it then to want to do more . I did not try to compare it to anyone else's , I kept the criticism strictly to my own personal level of skill , and at that point in time I had not done a better piece . I was content that I had fashioned it myself . I have gotten much better over the years , by virtue of the fact that I kept doing it . I delved deeper into the artistry of sculpting , I looked at what others did and attempted to figure out how they did what they did . I talked with other sculptors to gain insight into how the worked . I bought books of sculpture and about sculpture .

Most importantly , I KEPT sculpting . That's the ticket .
Hobbies are a Great Way to Waste Time !

Having been actively engaged in the creation of art throughout my entire life , it's difficult for me not to carry thru my artifice to my hobbies . I drew comics in grade school , built my own model kits throughout secondary and high school and eventually carved out niches in the advertising , gaming and illustration professions .

Having retired from my professional art career in 1999 , my art continues to remain a constant in my life now focused in my non-professional endeavors , the hobbies that I've maintained thruout my life . The Geeb-O-Rama Gallery is a showcase for the things I do just for my own enjoyment be they model building, diorama creation or doll making .
