The First Femforce Cool Girl Custom

Jim Johnston May Have Heart Failure . . .

Perhaps one of the most ardent supporters of AC Comics' Femforce comic book is a man by the name of Jim Johnston . Having discovered Takara Toys' " Cool Girl " line of ultra sexy female action figures , thanks to the custom work of Keith Paquette , who himself has done several AC based customizations using the Cool Girls , it was inevitable that I join the fray with some customs of my own .

For my first custom Femforce figure , I decided to combine two tasks , the first being to create a very special gift for a very special fan , and second to bring to 1/6 scale life one of my favorite characters from the Femforce series ; the military liason to the Femforce , General Roberta Strock .

Fun With The General

Cool Girl " Ebony " gets a re-wigging to become the crewcut coifed soldier .
You don't see too many african american action figures , let alone FEMALE ones , so with the acquisition of Ebony I knew that General Strock had found a perfect form . The main problem was that Ebony had long , straight , BLOND hair . So , with a great deal of enthusiasm I chopped off her golden tresses and began the work of replacing them with Roberta's curly little flat-topped 'fro . Upon completion I knew I had made the right decision ; General Strock was as good as " in the can " .

I've been working only periodically on this figure for many months , getting a little bit further along each time . She's still not finished , but she's close enough now to completion that I just couldn't wait to share her pics .

I've hinted vaguely to Mr. Johnston that I was working on a special piece for him , not quite letting the " She-Cat " out of the bag , to paraphrase a coloquialism , so I hope he doesn't have a coronary when he finally wanders through this website and chances upon this section .

For a large " pin-up " shot of General Strock , click the portarait shot to the right .

This one's for YOU , Jim!!

Getting Ready For Nightveil

I picked up a bunch of fabric many moons ago in order to create the costume for our favorite Mistress of the Mystic Arts . During that time I've been sewing up a storm , honing my sewing skills to the point where I might actually be able to create her costume and have it look good . I've never worked with spandex or lycra before , so I started out with NV's boots/stockings .

Creating Nightveil's Mask

An alternative method for creating a mask for your super hero figure , albeit a rather tedious method , is displayed here by Nightveil , Mistress of the Mystic Arts .

I took an unused Barbie head and cut the face with scissors to the shape of the face mask . I then used an x-acto knife to cut out the eyeholes . I used a dremel moto tool to carefully sand away the rubber from behind , trying to get the rubber thin enough to conform nicely to the Miss Fear head sculpt . I then used acrylic paint to paint the mask . A brass strip was glued across the top of the facemask , in a manner similar to a headband , to hold the mask in place .
