 The hands on a Get Real Girl body are not bad , but the placement of the joint makes a wrist that is proportionally too high on the arm , plus the sculpt job on the hands is bland and uninteresting . I chose to devise a way to replace the GRG hands in favor of Cool girl hands which are not only much better sculpted but allow a wider range of poseability via their ball socket jointing system . Originally I had thought that a simple cut and drill job would be the way to approach it , but after examining the construction of the hand , changed that approach to a less invasive conversion , which allowed a simple replacement via the CG's wrist post attachment .  Cool Girl Hands are made up of a very well designed post and anchor system . Some are easier to disassemble than others . Due to its design and fit , and the fragility of the plastic , it's not always easy to take them apart without minor damage , but with sanding films , any cosmetic damage can be easily addressed and fixed . First the locking ring is removed , by slipping a knife edge under the locking ring and lifting it out . Next , a nail sink is used to pop the center post out and from there the pieces may be easily separated .  The Get Real Girl's wrist post is thinner than the CG's , but if you wanted , shivs can be used to fill in the gaps , cut from the original CG wrist post and glued onto the GRG's wrist post . The CG's ball joint is easily slipped over the GRG's wrist post and the center post slips right back in place with little to no alteration necessary . Depending on your particular custom needs , the amount of finishing work and shaping to complete the change out will vary job to job .
