 Dallas Granger is a perfect example of how kit bashing can escalate . Originally she was going to be someone else , until I chanced upon that suede jacket , leggings and boot sleeves costume at eBay from the man behind Action Figure 2002 . I already had the hat from a previous Barbie figure , which worked so nicely with the suede outfit I passed the original suede hat from this costume set to another figure . We all know you can't have a gunslinging cowgirl without guns to sling , so that was my next search . I found two western gun toting babes from Yamato ; Bounty Hunters Kelly and Hanna and picked them up with the sole intent of cannibalizing their gear . The guns that came with them were nice enough , but their gun belts were less than great , the quality was not up to snuff with the Fun Toys outfit or the Cool Girl figure . At that same time I decided to start making a couple more Western themed action girls to " pardner " up with " Dallas " , as well as to find some horses since you need horses to head bandits off at the pass . During one of my horse searches I discovered the work of " The Toy Smith " out of Murfreesboro , Tennesse . The Toy Smith was producing leather gun rigs as well as cast metal guns and had some exceptional looking gun belts in the offing , all hand crafted and possessing a rustic and rugged look to them . His tagline/slogan " Got Metal ? " pretty much says it all , why settle for a nice looking plastic gun , when you can have repilica with weight to it ? I've got plenty of plastic firearms , most by BBI , and they are exceptional quality , but the look and presence that is afforded by The Toy Smith's firearms give a little bit of an added kick to the figure that just ain't there with plastic . The particular rig that " Dallas " is wearing is Toy Smith's " Monterey Kid 2 Gun Crossdraw Holster " and it was the unique look of the forward facing pistol stocks that said to me " Yeah , this is the kinda rig that Dolores would favor . " Color is important too , with her cream colored hat and blonde hair , D would HAVE to have white steel pistolas with ivory handles . . . all combined she has that " Im a Hot Babe with Hotter Lead " look to her . You'll get to meet her saddle pals a bit later on .   In the world of Cool Girl , Ice has had three versions . The first being marketed here in the states under the name Sky by BBI . Then came the spin-off versions , both based off the PlayStation 2 Video Game . The first was Ice before Cardinal Garrison , the second ( this one ) is Ice after Cardinal Garrison . I haven't done any researching yet into the game milieu , so don't ask me who or what Cardinal Garrison is , all that really mattered to me was that I think Ice has a bitchin' look to her . Whereas the first Ice action figure had the CG01 head , both the Ice " game versions " have the CG14 head just different paints on them . I like to refer to them as the Covergirl and Max Factor versions . Dallas above is the " covergirl " version and this is the " Max Factor " version . Both " Ice " game versions have superb costuming , with similar styling while being two distinctly different uniforms . The styling of both the jacket and the boots of this figure are some of the finest examples of doll clothing I have ever seen .  Barbra Dark was a kit bash waiting to happen . Based off the " Jet " figure , she is another of my " faves " . With her red hair , short "bobbed " coif , and that subtle demure expression she is a hottie to the nth degree . Having previously stripped her of her pleather cat suit for Dallas Granger , she hung around naked 'cept for her overcoat . She benefitted from my purchase of the Yamato Bounty Hunters , since I picked up , at that same time , a 40's style fedora which she wore for a time and developed the persona of Barbra Dark . Once again , Figure Monster of Action Figure 2002 and eBay came to the rescue with Fun Toys' Gothic Lolita Dress ( now THAT was a fevered bidding session ! ) and the Cy Gear Police Set . As I have come to expect from both Figure Monster and Fun Toys , the tailoring on the dress was beyond reproach ., and for my " signature " kit bashes I will settle for nothing less than clothing from these Hong Kong based custom kings . While playing around with one of the Yamato bounty hunter hats , that possessed by Hanna , I rolled down the brim , and VIOLA! , Barb's wide brim " Solomon Kane " hat was born . Funny , as a cowboy hat I didn't like Hanna's head wear , but with the brim down it works surprisingly well for Barb . I traded off the Lolita skirt ( too many ruffles for Barbra ) and replaced it with the leather split seam mini skirt from the Cy Gear Police Set and since Jet's knee high boots had already gone over to my Sword Maiden , she inherited the boot sleeves and feet also in the Police Set . Her weaponry was taken from Sideshow Collectibles' " X-Files : Frank Black " figure and 21st Century Toys' Villainess " Mathilda " donated her crossdraw shoulder rig .
