I only drew the Black Phantom once for Bill Black's AC Comics , but that was all I needed to fall in love with this classic comic book cowgirl . Originally a villain , nemesis of Redmask , she was eventually turned from her life of crime by Redmask to become the avenging Black Phantom . Dressed in an all black costume , mask and carrying a six shooter and a bull whip , it's no wonder that her brief initial appearance in Redmask's title would eventually launch her into a full fledged back up feature . When the Toysmith and I made the deal to trade , a custom cowgirl by me in exchange for a custom gun rig by The Toysmith , I knew i'd have to have Stevo create a 1/6th scale version of the rig I gave the Phantom in my pin-up/cover illustration that I did for AC back in 1990 , for my Cool Girl custom of The Black Phantom. Stevo did an absolutely awesome rig , one of the best I've ever seen him do , and THAT'S saying a lot !
